alright, i’ve managed to track down the video i used to make the antenna ~> here i found it on metacafe, but i know it is also avaliable on YouTube.

the instructions are rather straight forward. you will need 6 coat hangers and a pair of pliers, without those forget it. when you are straightening out the coat hangers use the pliers at the angles to make the bends as straight as possible; it may sound like a stupid comment now, but when you go to try and re-bend them back to a different shape it will make it all much easier if they are as straight as possible.

while searching i came upon another link here it would appear that the only difference is that instead of using another hanger to connect all of the others, he used copper wire instead. also, at the bottom of his post he highlights ways in which to improve it; i.e. For best results, I should add a reflector four inches behind the antenna. I plan to do that using some 2 inch by 1 inch wire. so, that looks like what ill be trying, perhaps not with 2X1″ wire, but certainly will get it done.

ive got almost every chan avaliable. the ones i am lacking, or that have a weaker digital signal, are the ones lower in the frequency and channel range, i.e. – chs. 8 and 10. im going to try to increase the signal by setting a mesh material to the back of the antenna; something similar to chicken wire.

speaking of chicken wire ~>

so theres the DIY Antenna. it beasts the 45$ one i bought a few months back and the most it cost me was time and a little dignity as i found out how hard it actually was to cut through a coat hanger ~~

and as of the 2nd of November Top Gear season 12 started! you can find it ~> here (as well can you find seasons 1-11!!) i was very pleased with the first episode. as my girlfriend and i were watching it we said to each other how much we actually enjoyed the show; the humor, the banter, the wit, and the information – it truly is a great show. o yea, the hessmo .com site also has the James May series as well as the Top Gear Australia series and the player he uses on that site is awesome
